i've heard all of you say it...

"I need to loose weight"

So in a quest to help both of us; I am enlisting a few of my friends. Obviously my skills at loosing weight are non-existent, but we always need to look on the bright side and recognize what skills we do have. I have always been good at coming up with creative ways to solve problems and at creating win-win solutions to them. So, I thought long and hard about how I could apply these skills to my overall health.

This is the plan that I've come up with.

You help me loose five pounds, and at the same time try to loose five pounds yourself. This way you would be helping me loose my five, and at the same time, getting something out of it.

What would you get out of it you ask?
You would loose at least five pounds, maybe more!
Help a friend in need.
Watch your own diet and exercise more.
See success in the challenge.

Great idea! Count me in...just as long as I don't have to drink any of those "health" shakes that you and Lisa create. :)

I will try along with you. You know 5 pounds is 1/2 a dress size and who wouldn't like to get new clothes! So count me in and I will try the best I can with you. (No funky foods for me either--I do better with portion control and eating better foods)

Sounds good! You're brave to write it all down on a blog. I should try writing down my food intake...accountability always helps.

Count me in, but don't think I've changed my mind on that sea weed crap. I have been trying to be better @ the in-take the past week, I haven't done any kind of exercise anything that would make any difference at all.... but ..... would like to.... no one around here to go with and I am not one to do it alone---not so far in my life... maybe one of these days. Hey if we went on a trip that involved serious power walking/ touring and I was the one to choose the eating (all according to cost) we could loose like 5 a week. I lost 5 lbs in NY, and that was with all those great dinning/ overeating episodes.
Just a thought.... sounded more fun than the gym.....

Let's do it! I stopped eating treats today (I get Saturdays off.) Sad day for me since at least one of my 3 meals lately has consisted strictly of M&M's, mint sandwiches or orange sticks. I am wearing them now and would like to see them gone. Let's loose 5!

Oh, I am so in... I love Angela's "trip" weight loss plan, I'm all for a dance plan, any classes at Lifetime fitness or just about anything else! Do we sign up for a specific 5 pounds with you? I saw someone called the first 5 pounds...put me on the schedule and let me know when to start the harrassing!

I am going out of town on Monday. I need to lose 5 before then, so the swim suit will look ok. I am drinking lots of water, avoiding bread and eating veggies and low-fat protein. I am running and lifting weights and it has made me all bulky, any suggestions?

Count me in. Maybe Lisa and I can introduce you to a heart rate monitor to tune in your training. The all women's triathlon is coming up in May. It's a short distance and you get chocolate and a necklace as you cross the finish line! Sweet.

Monica

Not that I one that follows thru on this, but stretching is really good for
thinning. Look @ ballerina's. Channel 9 has a great 1/2 hr show (w/ intro
and close it only takes like 25 min.) It is called "Classical Stretch- By
Miranda Esmond". M, W, F @ 8:00am, which is a bad time w/ kids going to
school but if you can DVR or she has some great discs you can order on her

I'm in because I am the absolute expert in the "trying" to lose weight I plan on being the expert in "really" losing weight. I joined weight watchers online. They have a great way to track your weight loss and daily intake. My goal is to not miss a day of exercise even if it is only 15 minutes. Lets keep each other motivated

I've also started working out at home to turbo jam DVD's (a fabulous & fun workout). sarah said,
this is a great idea. I have recently started to excercise and try to eat healthy. I am turning thirty in two weeks. I am noticing changes in my body and I need to work harder to feel good about my health and my body.
I am running about two miles every other day and trying to do pilates two days of the week. The best workout that I suggest is actually about fifteen years old. It is called the Cindy Crawford next challenge workout. My husband found it on ebay for me. Its great if you have kids.
One of my staples for a snack is cottage cheese with yogurt. Lots of protein. I am an ameture so I want a lot of ideas that are simple and affordable for menu ideas. (I hate to cook) :)
